We keep Eatonville First in everything that we do.
1887 First stands as a beacon of self-sustainability, freedom, and empowerment for Eatonville and beyond. We are rooted in the fight for economic independence, constitutional rights, and community solidarity. Our mission is to educate, congregate, and unite in the spirit of American African pride and self-determination. Together, we honor the legacy of Eatonville as the first all-Black self-governed town in the U.S., while building a future defined by unity and resilience.
Our Four Pillars
What We Do
At 1887 First, we are dedicated to:
Our Mission
To reclaim independence, empower communities, and build a legacy of freedom and pride.
Our Vision
To establish Eatonville as a global model of Black unity, economic independence, and cultural pride, where communities stand strong and self-reliant.
Groups band together to provide free haircuts, eye exams, school supplies in Eatonville
When you purchase an 1887 First T-shirt or Hoodie, you're not just acquiring a piece of clothing. You're making a statement. You're standing up for a community and its right to shape its own destiny.
