The Ville Community Development Corporation is our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization rooted in the historic town of Eatonville, Florida—the oldest Black-incorporated municipality in the United States. Founded in 2024, The Ville CDC is committed to preserving Eatonville’s cultural legacy while building a sustainable future centered on economic justice, food sovereignty, and community self-determination.
Our mission is to uplift and empower Eatonville residents through community-driven programs focused on health, education, entrepreneurship, and cultural preservation. From our monthly 1887 Night Market to digital marketing apprenticeships for youth, baby drives for expecting mothers, and produce distributions for food-insecure families, we work to create pathways for generational success and local ownership.
We believe that healing and transformation must come from within, so we invest directly in our people—helping small businesses launch, farmers scale, and families thrive. Our vision is a self-reliant Eatonville where the community controls its land, economy, media, and future.
Whether we’re restoring town history, training the next generation of entrepreneurs, or advocating for policy change, The Ville CDC stands as a guardian of Eatonville’s past and a catalyst for its future.
